Home Energy Savings Program

SESD has partnered with UAMPS (Utah Associated Municipal Power Systems) to offer cash incentives to customers who purchase energy efficient appliances and lighting fixtures from participating retailers. For more information about the SmartEnergy program please click on the SmartEnergy image below.

Get cash back when you purchase a qualifying clothes washer, refrigerator, dishwasher, room A/C unit, water heater, or lighting fixtures. Plus you'll save money on your energy bill year after year, and help the environment!

How to qualify for your incentive

In order to qualify for Home Energy Savings incentives:

• Appliances must be installed in residences within participating UAMPS energy partners' service territory to individuals with an active electrical utility account.
• Appliances must be purchased new, not used or leased.
• Customers have 90 days after the date of purchase to submit complete post purchase application and request an incentive.
• Incentives will be paid directly to customers. It will be in the form of a check issued within 45 days of UAMPS' approval of customer incentive application.

How to apply for your incentive

To apply for your Home Energy Savings incentive, please follow these instructions carefully:

• Purchase Appliance - Customers purchases qualified appliance and receives proof of purchase (itemized receipt with retail outlet name and date) and an incentive form.
• Install Appliance - Appliance is installed according to program installation guidelines.
• Submit - Submit a completed incentive form along with a copy of itemized receipt to UAMPS (see address on application form). Receipt must include sales date.
• Customer Verification - UAMPS will verify applicant's utility company is a participating UAMPS energy partner.
• Corrections - If necessary, UAMPS will return the application with a letter asking the customer to complete or correct the information.
